Compensation for Innocent Victims of Crime

Independent Specialist Representation

Making a claim for Criminal Injuries Compensation

Our Service We are a team of independent specialists who act as legal representatives for people wishing to make a claim for criminal injuries. Our dedicated team of Criminal Injury Compensation experts will pursue your criminal injury compensation through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA), which is a government body created to compensate innocent victims of crime.

By working with you and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, our specialist criminal injury team can achieve an appropriate criminal injuries compensation package for your losses. We can also advise you on benefits and payments available to you if you are left permanently or temporarily disabled or unable to work. The CICA scheme enables you to make a successful claim even if an offender is not identified, caught or convicted. Contact our criminal injury claim specialists before you make assumptions about the likely success or failure of your case. All criminal injury claims are dealt with on a 'No Win-No Fee' basis and we do not ask for any payment off you up front.

The Process Once you make contact with us, we will make an initial assessment by asking you a few general questions to see if you are eligible to claim compensation under the Criminal Injuries Compensation scheme. Once we have the relevant information relating to your claim we will be able to tell if you are entitled to compensation under the scheme and if so how much compensation you are likely to receive. If we are satisfied that you have a valid compensation claim, we will process your claim immediately and submit your information to the Criminal injuries compensation Authority. We will then assist the CICA in gathering any information and evidence that they require to process your application.

Can I do this myself? You can make the application yourself, without legal representation.

How do we get paid? We will deal with your criminal injury claim on a 'No Win No Fee' basis. We only get paid once you receive your compensation. We take a standard fee of 30% of your award for acting as your representative in a criminal injury matter . There are no hidden charges or VAT that are added to this amount. For example if you are awarded £1000 you will receive £700 after our fee has been deducted from your award.

What if my claim is rejected? If the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority decide that you are not eligible for an award we will look at appealing their decision. Where relevant we will form an appeal paper to challenge the CICA's decision using our wealth of experience in winning these cases. If the CICA still decide not to award you compensation for your injuries we can take your case to a tribunal and form further appeals and arguments in your favour.

How long does it take ?
The length of time it takes to settle a criminal injury case depends on the complexity of the incident in question and the availability of the evidence.
